Non-PRO Music – At Soundtaxi, Royalty Free Truly Means Free!
The term “Royalty Free” originally meant buying a one-time license for a track (a “sync fee”) for an agreed upon amount of time, with no further financial obligations to a PRO (Performance Rights Organization). The term however is increasingly used in tricky, convoluted ways by various music libraries around the world, introducing much confusion. Sometimes in fact, Royalty Free can now mean needing pay further license fees with PROs for different usages in certain countries.
Staying true to the original definition of Royalty Free, tracks at Soundtaxi indicate they are completely free of financial obligation after purchase! In Europe, these are known as “Non-PRO” tracks. In fact, out of 35,000 tracks in our archive around 32,000 tracks are Non-PRO! (Only around 3,000 of our tracks are “PRO-registered”). You can rest assured, once you buy a Non-PRO license fee, nothing more will be demanded – unlike other libraries!
You can easily browse only Non-PRO music on our website. Simply click the Non-PRO option in the search filter. Your search results will then be updated to show completely Non-PRO/Royalty Free tracks.
